USA Scores Biggest Win At World Cup

June 23rd, 2010 by soccer

world cup soccerOK I won’t lie. I wish I was in South Africa right now soaking up all the terrific World Cup action. And today I would have given just about anything to witness the USA vs Algeria match. As it was I was right on the edge of the couch going crazy as the minutes wound down in this one of a kind match. My buddy Chiuck and I were hooting and hollering and urging the US team on as the tension mounted to an almost unbearable level.

The game moved into added time and all seemed lost. The USA were going home from the Cup with nothing to show but disappointment. Then Algeria makes an attack and Tim saves the shot. Boom the man with the golden arm launches a service out to the flank. My god he threw the ball like a laser to Landon on full sprint and the counter attack was on. Could it be? Could this be the chance?

As we edged farther onto the front of our seat (could we go much farther and not fall on the floor?) the USA had numbers going forward. Landon, Jozy, and Clint are all on the full sprint to the Algeria goal. And then suddenly a shot is taken, another good save from the Algeria keeper, but in a blink there is Landon swooping in to scoop up the rebound and slot home the goal. AMAZING. I was now on my feet going crazy with joy. Oh my god the soccer gods heard our prayer and delivered us a goal and redemption from the bad ref calls in game two and the first half of this one. Could this be real? Well indeed it was and the boys closed out the game for the victory.

In the space of a few minutes the USA went from going home to winning the group and going to the next round. Simply friggin amazing stuff.  USA soccer skill is rising folks and we are so happy to be a part of it. Time to hit the training pitch and get the next group of stars ready for the next World Cup. Already team USA is making history.

New Designs – Unique Perspectives

May 17th, 2010 by soccer

Here at Pro Trainer Soccer we are always looking to innovate our product if we can. Sometimes you have to make decisions based on economics. That is just the way of the world. So it is good to get outside input when possible.

So when we were approached this year by several engineering students at two East Coast university’s saying they wanted to get hold of a Pro Trainer and use it for their class projects we said sure. Let’s open up the brain box and get some new ideas and perspectives on it.

Well one of the projects is done and we just got a preview of it today and well this student has done a remarkable job. Evan Moghadam is a senior at the University of Cincinnati and did his senior design project on how to recycle soccer balls back onto our machine without picking them up. An auto feed system if you will. Now we have designed our own version of a backyard goal/recycling system over the years but we only use it in our own training as it was too bulky to sell.

So as you can see from this image below Evan has come up with a working design to have players pass the ball to the machine and have them get picked up and recycled to the Pro Trainer. This has awesome application for the backyard training model using the Pro Trainer.

Breaking News

October 14th, 2009 by soccer

We just got word that the boys at the factory are now including a Smart Charger with all Pro Trainer soccer ball machine orders. In the past the Smart Charger has been an upgrade option that allows you to plug in your machine to recharge and leave it plugged in. It provides a trickle charge that keeps your battery topped off and ready to go even if it has been months since you last used it.

I have urged schools to get this upgrade for years since they have down time between seasons. But now all customers will get this item as part of the standard package.

Yeah for upgrades! And now your battery will never be left wanting when it comes to a fresh charge.

Fanfest at FC Gold Pride Game

August 4th, 2009 by soccer

Pro Trainer Soccer and ATS Soccer participated in the Fanfest area before this past Saturday’s FC Gold Pride game in Santa Clara. We set up two Pro trainers and served soccer balls to eager young soccer players who were on hand to see the Gold Pride play Washington in the WPS game.

Pro Trainer Soccer was especially excited to see our very own Kim Yokers get the nod to start this game. She trains for us and is a wonderful person and player. Well she proceeded to go out and score a cracker of a goal from 35 yards out in the 10th minute to help the Gold Pride to a 3-2 win over Abby Wambaugh and Washington.
