I’m going to be trying out for my high school soccer team next year, but I wasn’t able to play this year due to issues with the coach and I need to get prepared and to better myself. I am fairly sure I could make it where I stand now but I don’t want to just make the team, I want to be good. I can only run a mile in eight and a half minutes so I need to improve that definitely. I can control the ball very well and I can shoot with my right foot decently, pretty bad with my left unless I get lucky with a toe punt. So I’d like to know how often I should run and how long and how far and stuff and I’d also like to know of some good excersises I can do that will help. Thanks for reading, bye!

I am going to try out for my high school soccer team this year. I have started training with some of my friends who are already on the team but I am not sure what position I would be best for. I haven’t played soccer since I was young so I have nothing to really go off of but I am about 6’2″ and lanky at around 170 lbs. What position would I most likely be best suited for

Try outs for my school soccer team are next month and I was wondering what I should be able to do in order to make the team. What type of training should I do to get in shape? What soccer skills and basics should I be able to perform.
I have played on a league the past year but I am not really sure of what i should be able to do.

The polka dotted duck. Quak! asked: I know it’s early to be thinking about this, but for high school we are having tryouts for soccer.
I’m defense middle on my soccer team right now (not high school) sometimes they make me middle field.
In summer how can I train my leg muscles and become faster and more agile with the ball.

Paul F asked: I have tryouts for soccer on August 11. I have good endurance and I’m not slow, but I need to get a lot more speed and agility. I’m opretty good at defense, but I really need to work on ball control and moves. What are some workouts and drills (including sprints and distance running) I can do to get me back in to shape? A diet would also help a lot. Thanks!
