Danny Counts asked: He has done no running training other than playing mid in soccer. He ran a 6:09 mile 3 weeks ago in a track meet. He told me he could do better. So the limited training we have done for the past few weeks is uphill sprints (over and over), only two 3-mile runs and he is down to 5:52. Is this the right type of training?

KOforLiddell asked:
Here are some of the best goals from the past decade. I mainly used goals from the latter half of the decade (sorry to all the Zizou, Giggs, and R9 fans) because the quality of the videos is much better. I’m sure that there are a lot of great goals that aren’t in here, sorry about that. The song is a mashup I made ****but due to a virus, it has been erased from my computer. For anyone who wants the song, just wait as I try to find a friend who may have downloaded it off soundcloud before I removed it (to clear space). once i find it i will remove this message and put the link up for the song

I have nobody to play with. I don’t have enough spare time to join a team. I am terribly inexperienced at soccer, having only played a dozen casual game’s in my life. Aside from the needed stamina training, How can I be good? (If possible.)

Gabriela asked:
I’m choosing my electives for next year’s school year and I would like to know if Weight Training is considered the same as other sports such as volleyball, softball, soccer, and basketball. The reason why I want to know this is because I’m not much of a sports person, but I want to be fit and sports are really good for universities. Weight Training is followed by the letters “Ind. Sprts”. Yes, I know it says sports, I’m just trying to clear my doubts. Please help, I need to turn this in tomorrow.

Jestin asked: She really wants to and loves play but is very big for her age, and is not very nimble. She stays (hangs) back on the field and I feel she is afraid to tackle the ball and does not feel the confidence. Are there any nimbleness training and confidence boosting measures available.

Well June has finally come and the World Cup games in South Africa have begun. I don’t know about you but I have been glued to the TV watching every game played so far. I love the World Cup and all the world wide excitement and drama it brings to the stage.
So far it has been no disappointment as the games have been mostly well played, only one blowout so far, and the USA scored an impressive draw with England to bring some big excitement to the states the weekend.
I went to AT&T Park to watch the USA-UK game and to everyone’s surprise they had over 20.000 show up to watch the game on the big screen at the baseball park. It was quite an electrifying scene and most everyone went home quite happy.
I have also been quite happy to see the performance by the referees in this Cup. I am a long time ref myself so I watch closely to see how the guys at this level perform and so far they have done a terrific job. Some very good calls, spotted some things that could have been missed and over all kept games under very good control. Hats off and lets hope it continues throughout the Cup this year. It all started with the offsides call in the very first game where everyone thought they got it wrong but under close exam it was seen to be spot on.
Well enough for now, it is time for KO of the Italy game and I want to see if the Azzuri are ready to defend or if they are tired and old. What will it be?
Go USA on Friday! Tim and his sore ribs will be ready for victory.

It appears as though the winds of summer have brought us some good old fashioned soccer mania. First the Pro Trainer staff visited the Far West Region Championships in Lancaster CA to watch the State Cup champs from 14 western states battle it out for the right to go the National Championships in Lancaster MA in July. Lancaster CA is normally a toasty hot place in summer but this year we got lucky and had very mild weather with only one day in the 90′s. Made for some nice playing weather. Once again Cal South had the most success but overall there was some great soccer played all around the massive complex of fields in Lancaster.
Then the Confederations Cup came along and we thought it was three and out for the USA until the shocker game against Egypt put them through to the semis. Who could have imagined such a result. Then a match up with Spain! I would not have bet on them to do well against Spain but to all of our surprise they played wonderful and won. Wow.
The final against Brazil actually seems to have brought out some national soccer pride in the USA and that is good thing that needs to be built up as much as possible to help motivate our young players to rise to the national levle and represent out nation on the global stage of soccer.
And finally some of this soccer mania seems to be hitting us as well. Our markjeting efforts have yielded an unprecedented number of requests for our free DVD of the Pro Trainer soccer ball machine. We will be behind scheudle in full filling those requests due to the large number but that is a good problem to have these days.

OK so we are West Coast guys here at Pro Trainer Soccer. It was 70 degrees when we left for St Louis for this years NSCAA convention. St Louis was locked in a nice little cold snap and when we got to town it was around ZERO. Yikes. We froze a bit during the load in and load out for the show, but once the soccer coaches were inside the convention hall there was nothing chilly going on.Great clinics, seminars, and vendor show are always a hall mark of this convention and this year in St Louis was no different.
This years’s NSCAA convention was a great show with thousands of soccer coaches and hundreds of vendors showing off their wonderful soccer products. We spent three days having great talks with other soccer vendors, coaches, and customers (both new and current owners of our Pro Trainer soccer ball machine). We look forward to seeing them again at next years show or at other events around the country in the ocming year.
Congrats to the players taken in both the MLS Super Draft and WPS Draft, both held at this years show. We look forward to seeing these new stars of pro soccer out on the pitch this season.Lots of good buzz around the show surrounding the new women’s league. We sure hope it hits the ground running and is a big success.
